JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced and skilled temporary technical producer for a full-time position for 6 months in the Content and Learning department, based in Stockholm. In close collaboration with the department's other technical producers, exhibition producers, photographers, curators, and educators, you will be responsible for the development and production of AV technology in close dialogue with the project group and clients. The project groups also include employees from other departments of the authority. As a technical producer, you have a special responsibility for exhibition construction and maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, production, and maintenance within the AV area in our public exhibition projects. The work also includes some coordination of AV-related efforts primarily at our three museums in Stockholm, but work at the World Culture Museum in Gothenburg may also occur.
Work at height indoors (2-10 m) is required. The work is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting, working on ladders, and working at height, for example, when installing projectors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements, formal
- Documented experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of AV systems, including projectors, screens, and sound systems.
- Knowledge of programming and troubleshooting control systems, as well as experience with synchronized playback via media players (e.g., BrightSign).
- Good understanding of network configuration to manage connected exhibition technology.
- Ability to independently perform diagnostics and emergency troubleshooting during ongoing exhibition operations.
- Good ability to create sustainable exhibition technical solutions that work in a public environment.
- Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Mandatory requirements, personal qualities
We are looking for someone with a well-developed ability to collaborate and who enjoys working in a team. You are structured, have good planning skills, and are a skilled problem solver. You are proactive and drive the work forward within your areas of responsibility. It is also important that you demonstrate a service focus in the role and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You have experience in translating artistic visions into technical solutions in close collaboration with technical coordinators and exhibition designers. Furthermore, you have a good ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage several parallel activities.
The personal qualities are important for performing the tasks in the best way, which is why these are part of the mandatory requirements.
Desirable
- Familiarity and understanding of how technology affects museum objects, for example regarding light sensitivity and heat development.
- Experience in leading groups.
- Experience working in exhibition workshops with various woodworking machines, spray booths, and metal workshops.
- Good knowledge of how materials such as wood, polycarbonate, glass, metal, and vinyl film are handled.
- Valid certification, upon starting the position, for work from mobile work platforms.
